We recently welcomed new branding and a new name — but the team you know is still here. Dr. Tyler Crowe, our hygienists, and the front desk faces you recognize haven't gone anywhere.
What's changed is that we're growing, investing in the practice, and opening our doors to new patients who are ready for a dental home they can count on for the long haul.
Victoria Family Dental Centre has been caring for Oak Bay families for over 30 years — and for many of our patients, that's exactly how long they've been with us.
We have patients who've followed us across town, patients who bring their whole extended family, and patients who flew back from out of town just because they didn't want to see anyone else.
That kind of loyalty doesn't come from technology or location. It comes from trust.
Meet Dr. Tyler Crowe
Dr. Tyler Crowe grew up in Kenora, Ontario, and earned his dental degree from the University of Manitoba. After practising in Thompson, Manitoba, and Whistler, BC, he made Victoria home in 2007 — and Oak Bay patients haven't let him leave since.
What sets Tyler apart isn't just the clinical skill, though that's there too. It's the way he shows up for his patients. He's known for taking his time, remembering names, and checking in even when you're not his appointment. He has a particular passion for cosmetic dentistry and the satisfaction of helping patients feel confident about their smile again.
Outside the office, Tyler and his wife are kept busy by two kids and three dogs. On weekends you'll find him on the mountain bike trails — which, honestly, tracks with the energy he brings to work.
Dr. Crowe is a member of the BC College of Oral Health Professionals and the Canadian Dental Association.
What to expect
From the moment you walk in, you'll notice this office moves at a different pace. There's no rushing, no assembly line.
You'll be greeted by name, shown to a comfortable room, and given time to settle before anything starts.
For patients who carry anxiety into dental appointments — and most people carry at least a little — we've heard more than once that this is the first office where they actually felt relaxed.
We use gentle techniques, take our time with freezing, and check in throughout every procedure. If something doesn't feel right, we stop. It's that simple.
Our Office
Great dental care is never just one person. Our hygienists, associate dentists, and front desk team have been with this practice for years — and it shows. Patients consistently tell us they feel heard, unhurried, and genuinely cared for. We think that's the baseline, not a bonus.
We're a small team that does big work, and we're proud of it.
We're located in the Jubilee Professional Building at #204 – 1830 Oak Bay Avenue, right in the heart of Oak Bay Village.
Our office is equipped with the technology to handle most of your dental needs in-house — including a CEREC milling system for same-day crowns — so you spend less time getting referred elsewhere.
Parking is available in the building at $2/hour (credit card or loonie). Street parking is also available within a block for 1–2 hours.
